Bacon Social House

When a restaurant is called “Bacon”, it immediately makes you wonder how many different types of food can have bacon in it. Well, let me tell you, the answer is LOTS. Bacon is located in the upper Highlands, off 44th & Zuni in a funky 2-story space with exposed brick, big windows (that I’m guessing fully open in the summertime) and colorful pop art murals covering the walls. I went for happy hour with a few friends, and was overjoyed to discover a fun, new restaurant! And there wasn’t 1 thing we ordered that didn’t have bacon in it, even down to the cocktails. Thank goodness it lived up to its name, because the bacon was magically delicious. It was crispy and flavorful, with a touch of sweetness.

Their happy hour, which they call “Social Hour” is from 3-6 Monday-Saturday, so it would be a fun choice for a few apps and a drink right after work or before hitting the town on a Saturday. We got their Lamb Slider ($3), Quinoa Slider (which had a surprising kick to it) ($3), Sweet Potato Fries (with candied bacon strewn on top, of course), and BSH Old Fashioned’s, which were made with bacon bourbon. So awesome! The prices are nice and cheap, so we were able to order many different things…Or in our case, another side of bacon.

I hear they have a wonderful brunch (7:30-3:00 Mon-Sun), but this place is blowing up, so I would suggest getting a reservation on Open Table first. We went when it was snowing out, so I’m looking forward to going back when they can open those windows. They may even have a patio!

Hint: The entrance is off an alley/wide opening in between 2 buildings, so it may be tad difficult to find at first. It’s in between Zuni & Alcott, on the south side of the street. Luckily, when you do look into the alley, there is a bright, lit sign that says BACON at the entrance.
