First Draft is Open!

First Draft is Denver’s first bar where you can pour your own beer! I’ve been anxiously waiting for it to open, because it seems so innovative and exciting. When you walk in, you go to the counter to get your ID checked and give them a credit card. They activate a wristband with an RFID in it, and hand it to you to wear. Then, when you’re pouring a beer for yourself, it knows who you are and how many ounces you poured. You can pour 1 ounce for a taster, or a full glass, if you know you’ll love the beer. Then you only end up paying for the beer you actually poured.

I went on the 2nd day it was open and had a great experience. The employees are super-knowledgeable about the beers and were very helpful to all the first-timers.They also have a few ciders and wines, for the non-beer drinkers. They have some yummy small plates, such as this pretzel with beer cheese sauce. It’s located in RiNo in a small industrial-type space with a lot of natural light. I’m sure this place is going to be wildly popular.
