Jill and I both recently stopped by Civic Center Eats, a major food truck event that happens each Tuesday & Thursday at lunchtime in Civic Center Park.
It’s one of the great Denver summer offerings, with a wide variety of food trucks rotating in and out to keep the options fresh for repeat visitors. One of my previously mentioned favored trucks, Bumblebee Street Sweets, has been known to make an appearance at this event.
Some of my favorite things about Civic Center Eats:
- What a setting! – Great people watching, gorgeous buildings, and being able to sit on the capital lawn for an impromptu picnic on a gorgeous ‘I love living in CO’ kind of day.
- Way more food truck options that a typical event – take your paleo co-worker, your vegetarian friend, your picky friend, your gluten-free co-worker; there’s bound to be something that everyone can be happy with.
Determine a meeting place, then split up to pick your own food, then reconvene and enjoy. Way easier than trying to pick a place for lunch that everyone is happy with!
It’s not too late to enjoy Civic Center Eats this summer. The event will continue to run every Tuesday & Thursday, from 11am-2pm, until October 8.
