I love places that have both food and drinks specials for happy hour, and Block & Larder didn’t disappoint. I have wanted to go here for a while, and a few weeks ago, I finally got to go. It’s located on that new cute part of 40th & Tennyson Street, close to Hops & Pie and The Denver Cat Company. It has a rustic and comfortable feel with the smell of roasting meat wafting onto the street. We had a couple glasses of wine, thanks to the Denver Passport, and shared a delicious Chicken Cordon Bleu Sandwich with truffle fries. (I can’t find it on the menu, so I think that’s what it was!) Their entire front of the restaurant can open up, so I suggest going there on a nice day that you want a patio-like experience without the sun beating down on you. There are also lots of fun art galleries and shops close by, so it might be fun to go on a day where your schedule isn’t so tight, and you can experience all that Tennyson has to offer.
