I have been told for years that I have to try Bagel Deli, and recently, I finally got to see what all the fuss is about. The deli is located right off Hampden and I-25, and a great option if you need to meet a friend halfway between downtown and the Tech Center. When I first walked in, I immediately felt transported back to the East coast and back in time. It has been around forever, and is family owned without the typical commercialization of other restaurants. If you have ever been to the Original Pancake House, it has a very similar feel. I went with a traditional New Yorker, who ordered a plain bagel with plain cream cheese, not toasted. I ordered the Lox and Cream Cheese on an Everything bagel. It was great! I also got a lesson in the difference between typical bagels and New York bagels. The texture is totally different. I will be back for more bagels, for sure.
