Postino Wine Café, open since August and located in LoHi, offers a lot of appealing food and drink options, but the buzz I’d been hearing the most about through the foodie grapevine was their bruschetta (twelve different bruschetta options to be exact) and their amazing happy hour special.
Jill and I both recently visited Postino during their $20 Monday & Tuesday Special. Visit after 8pm on either day, and you can select 4 bruschetta and 1 bottle of wine for $20. This is a great deal, the bruschetta are large portions, and the wine selection options are solid and normally close to $20 on their own.
Having some Stagecoach Pinot Noir and four awesome bruschetta certainly cured my “case of the Mondays” that day. The secret is getting out about Postino, so don’t assume later evening = no reservation. Book ahead if you can, or if it’s a decent evening, enjoy their lovely and heated outdoor patio.
I loved all my bruschetta selections, but I’d have to say my clear favorite of the evening was the Tomato Jam & Fresh Sheeps Milk Cheese, with the Prosciutto with Figs & Mascarpone a close second. Jill’s favorite selection was the Roasted Red Peppers with Goat Cheese bruschetta.
