When my coworkers and I go to lunch downtown, we have some criteria to help us make our decision.
- Order at the counter rather than have a server for a quicker lunch
- Cost effective: either large portions or feeling like we got our money’s worth
- Relatively healthy
- Lots of choices since we have vegetarians, meat-lovers, non red meat eaters, etc.
- Available tables for large groups
- Delicious
Honor Society Handcrafted Eatery had all of it, and we were all so happy with our meals.
It reminded me a little of ModMarket. You pick your meat or main vegetable, then choose how you want it served and what seasonal sides you want. The menu changes with the seasons and is very fresh. You can choose to be healthier and order a salad, or order a sandwich and some not-so-healthy sides.
Some highlights from our group were the gluten-free chia seed fried chicken (surprisingly), and the sweet potato mashed potatoes. And while it cost a little more than you want to spend at lunch (on average around $12-$14), the quality made it worth it.
